Nuvo Snap vs Nuvo Hybrids

NUVO SNAP VS NUVO HYBRIDS

NUVO SNAP

Although traditional dentures can be an effective way to replace missing teeth, they also have a number of drawbacks. Ill-fitting dentures can shift inside the mouth, irritate the gums and even be responsible for an embarrassing clicking sound. Dentures can also require messy and uncomfortable adhesives to stay in place. With implant-supported dentures, the dentures are anchored by implants for stability which in turn helps preserve bone and gum tissue. Using what is known as a dental implant, our dentists can create a kind of artificial tooth root for your dentures, eliminating the need for adhesives and pastes and helping you attain a more natural feel with your teeth. The dentures are then snapped into place over the implants.

THE BENEFITS OF NUVO SNAP

With Nuvo-Snap dentures, you can almost reclaim your life! These effective denture stabilization options reduce instances of food getting trapped inside your dentures, enhance your ability to chew and speak without difficulty and diminish the negative effects dentures can have on surrounding teeth and gums. These special dentures will quickly restore your self-confidence and, with a fully functional smile, you can finally grin again. Your dentures are customized to match your existing teeth, complementing your unique facial structure. In fact, these cutting edge dentures are advanced to such a level they easily pass the test as your very own natural teeth.

THE PROCEDURE

In the initial exam, Dr. Erica Elannan will review your medical and dental history, take X-rays and create impressions of your teeth and gums so models can be fashioned. In some cases, a computed tomography (CT) scan of your mouth is utilized to identify the location of the sinuses (located above your upper teeth) and nerves. It allows the Dentist to make sure the sinuses and nerves will not be affected by the implant placement. A CT scan also reveals how much bone is available and to determine the best location for the implants.

If you are not already wearing a complete set of dentures to replace missing teeth, your dentist will make you one. This temporary denture will stay in place until the implant-supported denture is finished and will require four visits spanning several weeks to complete. By making this temporary denture, your dentist is able to determine the best position for the teeth in the final denture. The temporary denture can also can be used as backup if something happens to the final implant-supported denture. The temporary denture can also be used as the final denture to reduce overall cost and attachments will also be added so it can fit securely to the implants.

Once the temporary denture is completed, the dentist will use a copy of it as a guide to help place the implants in the proper positions. Holes are drilled in the copy of the denture so the dentist can see where the implants should be placed.

NUVO HYBRID

If you have multiple areas of missing teeth on the upper and/or lower arches of your mouth, an innovative option called Nuvo Snap, also known as ‘All-on-4’ may be an ideal solution. • The dental implants are designed to be permanent.

  • Enhanced ability to properly speak and chew.
  • Less food restriction when compared with traditional dentures.
  • Can significantly improve smile aesthetics.
  • Results typically look, feel and function more like natural teeth.

THE PROCEDURE

Traditional approaches to restoring a full arch of teeth usually involved bone grafts, six or more implants, and as many as 18 months of treatment leading to a patient often being without teeth or with Ill-fitting temporary dentures in excess of a year. With the Nuvo Hybrid Dental Implant Procedure, the patient has one or two visits to our office to allow the cosmetic dentist and oral surgeon to gather information for a treatment plan (e.g., CAT scan, X-rays, impressions, photos). Following this consultation, the patient is scheduled for surgery implantation.
In one appointment, all remaining teeth in the arch are removed and the implants are placed. A transitional set of teeth are attached to the implants and, over a period of several months, the implants fuse to the bone, effectively serving as artificial tooth roots anchoring your new teeth. Once the implants are finished healing, we take new impressions of the patient's mouth and prepare a final, stronger, permanent set of teeth adjusted to a perfect fit. This helps ensure the longest life of the teeth, and provides maximum support, beauty and function for the patient.
