At Smile Nuvo we know your time is valuable which is why we offer CEREC 3D restorations. CEREC 3D restoration is an advanced dental technology used for the restoration of decayed, cracked or chipped teeth and in the process, creating full crowns, inlays, onlays and veneers. The machine crafts a restoration in a matter of minutes. CEREC 3D restorations are made of compressed porcelain and for this reason are stronger than lab restorations which are layered porcelain. The most beneficial feature of a CEREC restoration is that it is accomplished in a single visit. And in addition to the benefit of a one visit restoration there is no impression material to bite on or temporary to wear.
HOW DOES IT WORK
A camera is used to take a digital picture of your tooth. The complete Optical Impression process takes only a minute or two. Next, the dentist employs the CEREC machine to help create a restoration of your tooth. The CEREC 3D software takes the digital picture and converts it to a three-dimensional virtual computer model. The dentist then designs the restoration using the CEREC 3D computer program and within a few minutes and a few clicks of a button, the restoration design data is sent to a separate milling machine in the same office. A ceramic block matching your tooth shade is placed in the milling machine and within 20 minutes your all-ceramic, tooth-colored restoration is complete and ready to bond in place. The final step in the process is for the dentist to fit the restoration to ensure proper comfort and bite. The restoration is then polished and bonded to the prepared tooth. After the process is complete, your tooth is restored without a ‘temporary’ or return trip necessary. We know your time is important and we hope the addition of the CEREC 3D system will help add some of that precious time back to your busy daily schedule.
